Housefront Remodel in Granite Hills

We resolved severe concrete damage caused by an overgrown palm tree with a brand-new hardscape layout featuring custom tile risers. Paired with fresh stucco, a matching custom wood trellis and door, and a custom wrought iron gate, this property’s curb appeal was completely revitalized.

Project Overview

This comprehensive exterior remodel focused on resolving severe hardscape damage caused by overgrown landscaping while completely reimagining the home’s curb appeal. By introducing a functional new concrete layout, custom woodwork, and cohesive exterior finishes, we transformed a poorly designed front yard into a stunning, welcoming entryway.

  • Location: San Diego Area

  • Project Scope: Full Exterior Remodel, Hardscaping, & Custom Carpentry

  • Key Features: Redesigned concrete with inset tile, matching custom wood door and trellis, new stucco, new roof, and a custom iron gate

The Problem

Destructive Landscaping & Poor Flow

The property’s exterior was suffering from both structural and aesthetic issues. A massive palm tree had overgrown its space, with its root system aggressively breaking up the old concrete pathways. Beyond the physical damage, the original hardscape layout suffered from a poor design that made the approach to the home feel awkward and uninviting. To compound the issues, the home’s exterior finishes were tired and in need of a major refresh.

The Solution

A Cohesive, Custom Redesign

HomeSmith executed a top-to-bottom exterior overhaul to fix the layout and elevate the home’s architectural character:

  • Hardscape & Tile: We removed the problem tree and engineered a completely new concrete layout for better flow, adding custom inset tile on the step risers for a unique pop of character.

  • Custom Woodwork: To create a warm, inviting focal point, we installed a new front door and built a custom architectural trellis. Both were crafted from the exact same wood species and stained to match perfectly.

  • Exterior Finishes: The entire house was re-stuccoed, and all exterior trim was repainted to modernize the facade. We also coordinated the installation of a brand-new roof.

  • Elevated Details: Fresh landscaping was brought in to complement the new layout, and a custom-designed, arch-top wrought iron entry gate was installed to complete the high-end look.
